Random acts of kindness are always so special. One of the things that makes them amazing is how unexpected they are. Take, for instance, just the other day I was at the grocery store, purchasing a can of peaches. When I arrived at the check out counter, the lady in front of me, bought my can of peaches for me.

I tried to protest. I tried to pay for my, much desired, can of peaches. But she calmly looked at me and said, “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of your peaches. I’ve seen your show on channel 11.”

So all I could do is say, “Thank you.”

I left the store so blessed!

When I got back to my ever-creative, business partner, Summer D Clemenson, who had every intension of making a fabulous sauce with those peaches and told her about what had happened. She smiled while she began forming that plain old can of peaches into something magical and I kept talking about Connect the Dots.

I really want to give it all back to Steve Jobs. His Commencement Speech at Stanford in 2004 when he said that in order to Connect the Dots you needed to be able see the past. In order to really understand life, be propelled forward and be prepared for the future we must know where we came from and Connect the Dots.

As our Creative Director bit her tongue, intentionally letting me think through my desire for a great show, I understood she was also showing that she understands this concept and that it takes a little work, great patience and a few random acts of kindness.

That random act of kindness, that surprise at the grocery store, started my entire week off on the right food.

What a peach!
