Longview, Washington – October 28, 2011
Lights were low as we enjoyed the smell of coffee and orange spice tea at The Electric Bean! The stage was ready and the vibe in the room was exciting. Associate Pastor of Valley Christian Fellowship, Quincy Follweiler, introduced the band and invited the 3 musicians on stage.
Real Age is from Newberg, Oregon and has been together for 7 years. Comprised of brothers and best friends we were blessed to listen their fresh and energetic tunes with lyrics that are peaceful and beautiful and create a magic that gives those of us in the audience a pleasant Friday night experience we will remember for a long time to come.
There is something super special about a group that truly enjoys playing their own music. You get the sense that Real Age wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but right here at The Electric Bean singing and playing their hearts out! Their songs are directly inspired by the world around them. We enjoyed songs written for world events as well as family oriented stories. The song “Out of Love” was written for Martin Luther King Jr. who believed that love was the only force that could turn an enemy into a friend.
Lead by Tim Almquist (lead vocals and guitars). Mark Almquist is on percussion and Reed Allen handles the bass. You can learn more about this band, that Karen refers to as “homemade goodness” at http://www.realageband.com. (I bet they had no idea that they made her think about chocolate cake!) You can also find the on Reverbnation at http://www.reverbnation.com/realage.
We would like to thank The Electric Bean for their EXCLAIMATIOUS positivity and their desire to promote the arts in the Kelso-Longview area.
