First off, we understand that the Christmas Parade happened Saturday December 1, 2012. We also know that we made this production available to be shown on KLTV Channel 11 within a few days of that time…but we got backlogged…so here is the blog!
The perfect showcase of fun in Longview-Kelso! The Longview Christmas Parade is proof that cold, rain and darkness does not stop Longview-ites from having a good time!
Bands, kids and adults all come to enjoy the magic of Christmas as it is paraded through Downtown Longview, Washington. We are reminded of years gone by in the mecca of Americana, as bright lights, merry people and flying candy pelt Commerce Avenue, lined by historical buildings that sing of tradition and goodwill toward men.
OK…so Karen thinks my tongue-in-cheek parody of what she dictated to me is not what she intended…so let us leave you with this.
We are blessed to live in a place that is so full of love and lively people and who doesn’t love a parade? The bands are proof that we can walk together in perfect formation while making beautiful music. As we step together we grow stronger and learn from each other.
We hope you carry a bit of Christmas in your heart all year long. Give, Love and Laugh as often as you can and make sure to EXCLAIM all that is positive in your life.
In case you haven’t heard, one of our favorite local artists, Jeff Hamilton, has recently released his new album, Down and Under. Make sure to enjoy this clip of some of the highlights of the 2012 Longview Christmas Parade. We chose to showcase one of Jeff’s songs, Angel, during this short clip of the show.
If you would like to see Jeff Hamilton live make sure to be at Stir It Up Cafe on Saturday, Feb 16, 2013 at 7pm.
