Music, Dancing, Fellowship & did we mention Classic Cars?
This is the 2nd year Exclaim Media, LLC made it to Cruise for the Cure in Downtown Longview, Washington. Thanks to 3 EXCLAIMATIOUS organizations: Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Home, Health & Hospice & New Hope Recovery the 5th Annual Cruise for the Cure was the place to be for fun in the sun!
As we arrived on the scene we were elated to see more people than we remembered at last years event, of course several friends that made the event great last year were back & ready for action too! There was a PT Cruiser being raffled by one group. We also saw more vendors ready to serve with a smile on their face but the thing that made this year better were that a lot of vendors were there as a memorial to people they had lost due to cancer. There was also a booth for Kyron Horman, a little boy that has been missing for a long time; they were reaching out for people that would continue the search to find him and return him to his family.
As we made our rounds we enjoyed the beauty of the cherry cars that lined the streets on both sides of Commerce between Florida & Maple streets. In whatever state of restoration we could see the love that people showed toward their cars & people of all ages were stopping to enjoy the work & dedication each owner has put into their car. Some cars were even staged with dolls, mailboxes, window trays with plastic food & other mementos to help us remember how they were in their day. We were touched to see memorials to those that had lost their battle with cancer, some even etched into windows of these beautiful machines.
As we made it to the intersection of Commerce and Broadway we joined the crowd that had formed to watch The 50/50 Gals! We could see they had really practiced and looked wonderful while they danced in sync with each other. They were dancing to songs from the 50’s & really bringing in some excitement. We were lucky to be there.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & look forward to next year! Keep watching Connect the Dots on KLTV channel 11 on Wednesday nights at 6:30 to see footage of this magnificent event. Also check out Exclaim Media, LLC’s Facebook Fan Page for raw clips of community events…We know you’ll like us!
