Some people think Volunteering is something you do when you have time, but Karen and Summer believe it is a way of life and their schedules prove it! This week on Connect the Dots we are excited to bring you snippets from the lives of Hearts for Homeless and The Boy Scouts and Living Ministries serving The Salvation Army.
Hearts for Homeless spreads their family love to those that are currently dealing with the plight of homelessness. This family run organization takes resources, food and most of all love right to homeless people in Cowlitz County. They make themselves available because they understand that love can bring light into the darkest of places.
The newest ministry of The Salvation Army has offered over 600 bed nights in its first 6 months. 4 The Long View Motel is a motel that serves homeless singles and married couples in Longview. We were super excited to capture The Boy Scouts Troop # 327 erect a flag pole and lead us in a flag raising ceremony at 4 The Long View Motel.
For more information about 4 The Long View please call Janice Hillman at The Salvation Army at (360) 423-3990.
Because The Salvation Army serves so many people in our area and organizes donations from the community for local families, senior citizens and shut ins, Living Ministries wanted to help Unite the Community While Doing The Most Good. Christmas Angel Telethon is an annual event that helps to pay for Christmas at The Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel Community Center. We think you will enjoy some fun footage from Christmas Angel Telethon 2011.
Every day people in Cowlitz County are serving other people, animals and each other and we think that is EXCLAIMATIOUS!
If you are an organization that serves, we want to hear from you. We might even feature you right here as we Connect the Dots.
