Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is refuge for us. Selah Psalm 62:8

Immediacy is not a virtue.

When I am stressed I feel like announcing my feelings and thoughts about everything, right now to everyone, except God; I don’t want to process anything before I react, yet I am so thankful to Jesus who is leading me to spend time praying and in the word to hear what God thinks and how He is teaching me to behave because lately, life has felt like one run on sentence…

I have poured out my heart, over and over, in the last few weeks; it seems to be a constant thing. As a country we have been bombarded with violence and we haven’t had time heal from one hurt, before another happens. I feel the pain not only of my heart but of my neighbors and all I can do is keep handing my cares to God.

The grace of God that we have, can empower us to be peacemakers among all people and obtain holiness that only God can give. I am called to extend His grace, peace and holiness to others always, so that forgiveness and mercy will cut off any bitterness that wants to take hold and lead the hearts of many astray. God expects all His children to respond to each other this way. [Hebrews 12:14-15]

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

I am so glad that God is always teaching me how to be a peacemaker. He is showing me to live in His grace and to extend it to others. He is teaching me how to communicate with my loved ones and my community. I never thought I would be a peacemaker, yet since He has adopted me, I am His child, so I am called to be a peacemaker. I find myself seeking Him more and more for his holiness and perspective. This is the only way for me to truly learn His grace, mercy, love, repentance and forgiveness and the only way for me to be saved from bitterness and wrath, death and destruction.

I am far from perfect; I am easily angered, my body has become used to living in anxiety and fear, it is difficult to not let my body lead the rest of me, but my heart is Jesus’ and He is renewing my mind and my desire to let Him lead. Jesus has fostered love and forgiveness in me. He has made me curious and trusted me with much. I want to let Him lead because I get tired and I am so thankful that He is always interceding and working in me and in all believers. I want Him to find glory for Himself in everything I do. His power is the only power I have access to that doesn’t suck the life out of me but actually encourages growth and maturity.

Thank You God for speaking to Pastor Scott about this part:

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time. Daniel 7:25

The spirit of the antichrist will speak against God in order to break the children of God down; to steal our strength, our spirit, our hope and our joy. As children of God, when we stop focusing on the fact that we are hidden Christ we will be stuck in the reality of this world instead of in the kingdom of God. Division is founded here because our cares become bigger than the power of God to love people.

A peacemaker keeps their eyes on Jesus so that Jesus can fill our need for joy and peace, so that we will have enough to share with our neighbor when they are becoming distracted or weary. Peacemakers are meant to share God’s light in the dark places so that He can validate and empower us.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest up on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

I don’t have being a peacemaker down yet, but Jesus does so I will boast of His strength. I hope you will too.

If you don’t know what to pray here are some suggestions I got at church:

  • …Pray for the men and women of law enforcement, who put their lives and families on the line daily.
  • …Pray that polarization in our nation would cease and that unity would prevail.
  • …Pray that the church will rise in love and in the ministry of reconciliation we have been given, and lead the way in healing our communities.
  • …Pray against injustice and that God would give us wisdom and strategy to do our part to see injustice cease and to right the wrongs being done in our nation.
  • …In the midst of tragedies’ complexity and confusion, pray that people would find healing and hope in Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that will be unprofitable for you.

My name is Summer. That is how you can call me. I hope that I am a blessing to you. I am not perfect. I will fall again. But I am forgiven.

Do you know Jesus? Do want the Holy Spirit to fill you and give you understanding and salvation? Ask Him. Want someone to pray with you? Contact me.

If you would like to know Jesus as your friend, but want to make this amazing commitment by yourself please pray something like this:

Thank you Jesus that You are the Son of God, the God that created heaven and earth. Thank you Jesus that You came to earth in the form of a man so that You would be able to empathize with my humanity. Thank You that You did this in order to fulfill the promises You made at the foundation of the world.

I realize that I am a sinner and do things that hurt myself and keep myself away from you. Thank You that You died for my sins so that You could defeat death and bring me into Your life. Please forgive me.

I ask You to be Lord of my life. I ask you to heal my hurts and show me what my new life, empowered by You looks like. Thank You for Your mercy.

Amen

The Lord is with you always.
